- Appearance: thick yellow haze 5/6
- Aroma: strong citrus fruits up front, lemon zest and sliced limes on the back end 23/24
- Flavor: Orange Julius smoothie morphs into mango, guava, and berry medley fruit salad, ends with a huge zesty orange note and mild lingering bitterness 38/40
- Mouthfeel: almost perfect creaminess, syrupy and some alcohol warmth 9/10
- Overall Impression: one of the best DIPAs I’ve had in 2021 and could pass as a triple IPA due to 9.5% ABV 19/20

- This DIPA was very green the first month after canning date of 6/25/21, but has aged well during August 2021 to highlight all of the citrus and tropical fruit flavors. A+ use of Citra and Mosaic hops. New Image Brewing is very skilled at merging East Coast hazy IPA recipes with West Coast ingredients. Keep doing what you are doing!
Brewery Background
New Image Brewing (NI) is located in Arvada, Colorado and opened in 2016. Founded by Brandon Capps after being the head brewer at The Brew Gentlemen Beer Company in Braddock, PA. NI focuses on hazy IPAs, stouts, saisons and sours. As an added bonus, NI has an onsite kitchen that provides comfort food (street tacos) during taproom hours. NI is active in the social media market with timely posts on Instagram. Beer shipping services are available via Bevv to NY, CT, FL, DC, PA, AK and KY. NI focuses on community outreach and local charities.
I’ve sampled two beers from IG, East Coast Transplant DIPA and Pure Isolate – Idaho 7 DIPA. Both utilized fruit forward flavors and had no sign of high ABV% levels. NI is a pioneer in the brewing industry due to utilizing terpenes for aromatic purposes. Words can’t describe how well it works, its phenomenal. For all beer geeks traveling through Colorado, I’d recommend stopping at New Image Brewing, Odd13 Brewing and Weldwerks Brewing Company to compare top notch hazy IPAs and DIPAs.

Betterer Togetherer DIPA has had two different iterations brewed to date. Currently on a mission to find the IPA version to focus on the Citra and Mosaic hops profile and dial down the ABV%.
Sports Comparison for this Libation
Aaron Rodgers, QB and Davante Adams, WR for the Green Bay Packers. Rodgers illustrious NFL career has spanned sixteen years (2005-2020). Adams has worked incredibly hard during his seven year career (2014-2020). Both players found on-field chemistry in 2016, with Adams catching 75 passes for 997 yards and 12 touchdowns. Rodgers missed nine games in 2017 with a shoulder injury and the Packers didn’t make the NFL playoffs. From 2018-2020, Rodgers and Adams found a new level of performance with Adams averaging 103 catches for 1252 yards and 12 touchdowns. Rogers was named NFL MVP in 2020 when he threw for 4299 yards and 48 touchdowns.
Both players know each other’s tendencies and habits well on the field during games. The 2021 offseason was tumultuous for the Packers front office, due to Rodgers threatening to sit out if he wasn’t traded. Adams followed suit by playing hardball with his contract extension negotiations and stating he didn’t want to be a Packer without Rodgers as a QB. From a fan’s perspective, the Packers drama was intriguing at first but then in dragged into soap opera mode until summer camp started in late July 2021.
2021 will be the Last Dance
Cooler heads have prevailed at Lambeau Field during the pre-season, with Rodgers and Adams getting up to speed for opening day on 9/12/21. Both players have determined that 2021 will most likely be their final season in Green Bay and they definitely play better together than apart. I’m hoping Rodgers and Adams treat the 2021 season like the Chicago Bulls played the 1997-1998 season, in the excellent documentary The Last Dance. Get the band back together for one more title run and leave everything out on the playing field.
